This hostel is very clean, very quiet so it's very good to get some rest. The best thing is the location because there are several supermarkets around and the neighbouhood is ok.

The travel desk is really helpful. Reception people are great. Big clean kitchen.

Its perfect location 5 minutes from the heart of St. Kilda offers a nice walk through some of the funkiest cafes and shops Melbourne has to offer, on track to one of Australia's premier beaches. Hostelworld.com Great place. Free bbq on Fridays, extremely secure (almost too secure, had to put a deposit down for key access to their carpark). Carpark was a massive bonus in a suburb where parking for more than 1 - 2 hours is hard to come by!

Just one of the nicest damn hostels I have had the pleasure of staying in. After a minging one in Sydney, treated ourselves to this and rewarded with large, bright, clean room with awesome bathroom. Kitchen set up downstairs is roomy and there seems to be a general air of good will around, very few dirty plates in sinks! Social areas are comfy and large, people interesting and staff friendly.St Kilda beach area is very cool but easy and quick to get into Melbourne via tram. All in all, excellent!

The reception open 24 hours with tight security at night. The kitchen and common room were quite big. Even though there were lot of computers...they were always occupied and full. Tram stops just opposite to the hostel, so commutation to city was good. We enjoyed staying in this hostel....

Overall pretty sweet hostel. The common room is set up so you have no choice but to chat to others. Nice court yard too. Down town melbourne is only a 15min tram ride.

Fantastic place, more like a hotel than a hostel. Clean, modern and great location on within walking distance of St Kilda and Chapel St and easy access to the city on 2 tram routes. Great value.

Cooee is a lovely hostel, nice friendly staff, rooms are clean, shower facilities are good too 5 to 10 min walk from St Kilda centre, and the tram stop is just across the road from the hostel, takes 20 mins into central Melbourne I definitely recommend staying here.

I've stayed at a lot of hostels and this is easily the best. Facilities are top notch, staff are great, the whole place is immaculate and I shared with some great people. I'm trying to think of something critical but really I can't. If you want to be in the St Kilda district near the beach but also a short tram ride from town then this is the place for you.

Really quality place to hang around for a week or so. Great value for money, breakfast is free every day, free bus from the airport, short tram ride to the city. Highly recommend.

It's very clean and it's very spacious. I've never have problem waiting for bathroom and never had problems waiting in the kitchen. The arrangement of the rooms are reasonable and heaters, air conditioning, hot water and other facilities are considered complete. Common rooms are pretty cosy and the atmosphere in the common room is good, it's a good place to hang out after a long day trip.

I really enjoyed staying at Cooee... the staff were great, they give you an hour of free internet and there are lots of computers available, the bathrooms/showers were spotless and the dorms were quiet. Common room couches were also comfy.

The hostel was new, clean with very nice and welcoming communal areas and lovely staff. The rooms were clean and beds comfy and bathrooms were fab! My favourite hostel I stayed in Australia and really good value for money.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I really like the activities/theme nights (like free entrance to cabaret or 'Who Becomes a Millionaire' etc.'. The free breakfast was good, too - same as the pancakes! It's is very clean and the bathrooms are amazing!!!! Beds are cosy and lockers are good. Location is good (not in city but the tram goes pretty often). All in all I really enjoyed my stay!!! Cheers!

The people who work at Cooee are so nice! They planned activities, talked with everyone, and were incredibly helpful! The kitchen is really nice too, and you can store your food there without any worries about it being taken. It was a great place and I will definitely come back.

Staff are wonderful, Bathrooms are like a hotel and always clean, good price for what you get. Will come back again!

Really excellent hostel. Not in st kilda or the city centre but on a direct tramline to both, it’s easy to get everywhere you need. The hostel has a really good vibe to it, great common area with pool table/ bbq/ internet/tv lounge and comfy couches. Can get cutlery and plates for a deposit and kitchen has space to store food though this does get stolen sometimes. Would recommend this hostel and definitely stay there again, good place to meet people!

Loved it here. Comfy bed, lovely shower, more like a hotel room. Staff really friendly and helpful. Free pancakes on our last day made the stay just perfect. Would go back again. Tram is easy to get into town but it is really nice in St. Kilda as well.

Great facilities, lots of available computers and 1 hours free internet access. Air con in the bedroom was fantastic especially with the current heatwave of 41 degrees! Would highly recommend this hostel and stay there again especially if you want some peace and quiet for that occasional early night.

This is a FANTASTIC place to stay, my favourite place. The rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms are the nicest of any hostel I stayed at, internet and lounge very nice. A tram right out front to take you downtown. A short walk to St. Kilda, would stay here again!

Great Hostel, has plenty of events so it is really fun to stay at. Also has a nice outdoor area. Great staff as well.

This spanky new and hospitable-spotless hostel has outstanding facilities. Dorms are snug but thick comfy mattresses compensate, and families do well in sunny en suites containing three single beds and a double. The bright, timber-clad lounge has plenty of places to park yourself and there’s even a sunny beer garden.

My time in Cooee has been amazing. I’ve spent 3 weeks here and the days away made me realise more what a great place it is. The kitchen and bathrooms are amazin’ aswell as the staff. I came by myself and because of the friendly atmosphere I’m leaving with great people and memories!
